To cap it all, the staff members are also very smartly dressed specially those involved with the different events – they blend so well with the smart children that, the total effect is just smashing.
The day starts with the usual Assembly and then, all of us are instructed to go to our allotted places on the lawn, class wise.
The smashes and volleys of surendra of X class, and placing, serving and ‘killing the ball’ at the net by Kapur of the IX class, elicited praise from one and all. The football match was won by the upper middle students. Next came a hockey match between the IX and X class students.
The volleyball match was very interesting and thrilling. The X class students felt humbled and crestfallen at this defeat at the hands of juniors.
The thrill, the excitement, and then, the pleasure of winning are all moments worth seeing and enjoying.
I love to see my friends and others participating with their hearts and souls with a complete involvement in the games. Every year, after seeing this event, I decide that, I should also try to take part, but, the enthusiasm soon fades away as, I must admit that, I am not too keen a lover or fan of sports and games.
The students’ guardians and friends were also present in quite a large number. First of all we had a volley-ball match between the 9th and 10th classes and a football match between the lower middle and the upper middle. The hockey match was followed by a tug of war match between the staff and the VIII class students. When the boys saw that the staff was showing signs of exhaustion, they strained every nerve at one and the same time and pulled with all their strength.
The staff pulled with might and main but the boys did not budge an inch. The unsuccessful attempts of the competitors made the spectators laugh heartily.
Victory stands are beautifully done up to make the victors feel proud of being there after the events.
All the children are so well groomed in their white uniforms that, it is a sight to watch and admire.
