This study is focused on the Pula Bato, Danlag, Altayan, and Taplan Rivers in such a climatic setting in Philippines.

Despite high upfront costs, wastewater management can be cost-effective if companies tap available clean energy financing options and adopt green technologies that cut their reliance on fossil fuels, resulting in significant savings.

Understanding the baseline geochemistry of stream waters in a prospective mining area is the key to responsible life-of-mine planning and the protection of local rivers.

This can be sometimes challenging due to the presence of abandoned mines, small scale mining, and geogenic sources of metals in the same area, particularly under a tropical humid climates with rivers carrying intermittently high solid loads.

The Facility will complement other Program components aimed at strengthening compliance monitoring and subsequent enforcement of emission standards for polluting industries as well as the transport sector.

The Facility will be used to contribute to the funding of air pollution monitoring equipment for individual or groups of industries, the installation of pollution abatement equipment or, in the case of the transport sector, investments in the rehabilitation of the public transport fleet.
