Interviews lasted 30 to 60 minutes and were audio-recorded.

Audio recordings were transcribed and then analyzed to determine patterns and themes within the interviewees’ responses to questions.

Ten community supervision officers employed by the Georgia Department of Corrections in rural areas of Georgia were interviewed about their observations in regard to parolees who have a high school diploma or GED versus those who do not.

The officers were asked six open-ended questions, along with appropriate follow-up questions, to determine their experiences and perceptions pertinent to whether and how having a secondary education may affect the post-release behavior of parolees.

In addition, the majority of the officers expressed their belief that having a secondary education improves offenders’ chances of obtaining a good job after their release and improves their compliance with sentencing and parole conditions.

These results support those of other studies finding that having a secondary education reduces the likelihood of recidivism among released offenders. This paper analyzes how economics can frame political debates using economic policy devices. It examines the FIFI macroeconomic model's introduction into the French planning processes of the mid-1960s and argues that economists perform two operations, selection and qualification, which play a key role in structuring political debates on the French economy's future.Building on archives and in-depth interviews, I show how the FIFI model was a central component of the Sixth Plan (1971-1975): it was designed to produce simulations of state intervention in the French economy and organize planning commissions debates. We name this climate of risk perception the “Terminator Syndrome”—not because of its origins in the movie of the same name per se, but because such unchecked beliefs can terminate broad public engagement on AI before they even begin.Using both quantitative and qualitative approaches, this study examined the hypothesis that the news media coverage of AI is negative.
